A-MaT is an Allergy Monoclonal antibody Therapy (A-MaT) that can replace both steroids and Apoquel without any of the negative adverse effects (steroids iatrogenic Cushings and MRStaph and Apoquel tumor risk).
This treatment is BEST used to treat seasonal allergy flares and patients that are having adverse effects from steroids or Apoquel.
The pricing of the treatment is similar to Convenia.
If the patient is doing well on allergy desensitization therapy or Atopica continue these treatments, as they are safe and more cost effective with the potential for cure/remission.
If your patient has failed treatment with Atopica or Allergy vaccine therapy or if your patient continues to need either steroids or Apoquel A-MaT injectable treatment is a much much better option.
A-MaT is an injection that is administered in the clinic and stops the pruritic symptoms of allergy for 4-6 weeks. A-MaT only works in dogs due to the specifically designed and produced monoclonal antibody that has been caninized (dog specific immune matching antibody). There are almost no side effects identified with this treatment; however, like similar human treatments (Humara) the patients body and immune system may eventually react to the monoclonal antibody making it ineffective (possible reaction after several months of treatment).
